SECU Federal Credit Union was chartered on March 26, 1960. In 1960,  we started with 8 members and $40.00 in deposits.

In 1978, we moved into our current quarters, located at 1780 Fowler  in the Columbia Center North Shopping Center. This location, while having a Richland address, is centrally located for our members in Benton and Franklin counties.

In 1999 we opened two branch offices, one in Pasco, WA at 1817 W. Sylvester and a second branch Kennewick at 807 Vineyard Dr.

Throughout our history, SECU has remained true to it's purpose of providing financial services for school employees. The many volunteers serving on the Credit Union's Board of Directors, Supervisory Committee, Credit Committee, Nominating Committee, and Scholarship Committee ensure that the Credit Union is owned and governed by the people within it's field of membership.
